Training Programmes for Lecturers:
The Lecturers in colleges need to periodically update their knowledge and
skills in their subjects in view of the rapid advances made. The Department
has been regularly conducting training programmes to the Lecturers
of various under graduate subjects for quality improvement
Principals :
During 2004-2005, 100 newly promoted Principals of Government Degree
Colleges in the state were trained in three batches on Academic, Administrative and Financial
matters. For the year 2005-2006,Principals of NAAC going colleges were trained in 2 batches.
2-Day workshop was conducted for RJDCES, principals of Identified Degree Colleges on Regulation of
Administrative Mechanism of Private Aided Colleges in the State
Lecturers:
During 2005-2005,three 6-day induction cum orientation programs were conducted for newly
promoted lectures to make them effectively face the higher age group of students and teach an
expanded and specialized syllabus to the degree level. In addition, practical training programs
were conducted to Physical Directors and Librarians.781 lectures of different subjects were conducted
to nominated to Academic Staff Colleges of different Universities for Refresher/Orientation programs
for updating their teaching skills and knowledge in respective subjects.
During 2005-2006, Librarians of 50 Govt.Degree College were given practical training on library
automation in collaboration with INFLIBNET,UGC sponsored organization.
Future Programs:

It is proposed to conduct 58 programs for Principals, Lecturers and Nonteaching Staff of Govt. Degree Colleges.

Two more programs for Librarians on library automation and on the connectivity of libraries.

Organizing Seminars,Workshops,refresher programs for the lectures and students of Govt. and private Aided Colleges in the state in English subject etc,through a English Language Fellow sponsored by U.S.A.
